Saito armed with the SIG Sauer P226
The SIG P226 is a full-sized, service-type pistol made by SIG Sauer. It is chambered for the 9×19mm Parabellum, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, and .22 Long Rifle. It is essentially the same basic design of the SIG P220, but developed to use higher capacity, staggered-column magazines in place of the single-column magazines of the P220. The P226 itself has spawned further sub-variants; the P228 and P229 are both compact versions of the staggered-column P226 design. In Zero no Tsukaima F, Saito is given a SIG Sauer P226 by Julio Chesaré, which he first uses in combat with Sheffield and Joseph de Gallia, however, he is disarmed by Joseph, who picks up the handgun and points it at Saito, noting that "You don't have to be Gandálfr to figure out how to use this", presumably having some basic understanding of its use because based on flintlock pistols, which were in widespread use in Halkeginia. Joseph, however, is disarmed and the weapon is later discarded when Saito and Joseph engage hand-to-hand combat.
