The Undine/Ondine Knight Corps of the Water Spirit, commonly known as the Undine/Ondine Knights, are a Tristain army unit consisting of male students from the Tristain Academy of Magic. The Knights take part in major events in both Tristain, Gallia, and Romalia throughout both the light novel and show.
History
The idea behind the knights originated after the Albion War when Queen Henrietta of Tristain decided to establish a group of knights who would not only serve as part of the larger Mage Guard, but would be able to carry out missions for her much like the all-female Musketeers. Saito was initially considered for the position of Captain but his status as an 'elevated commoner' created concerns that the more conservative nobles would object. As a result, command of the knights was given to Guiche in recognition of his achievements during the war.

- Despite being referred to as a Corps the size and structure of their unit, 100 students under the command of a Captain, means that the Ondine in fact an army Company.
- The water spirit mentioned in the order's name refers to a mythical being that, according to legend, granted the House of Tristain their mastery over water magic.
- Undine (alternatively spelled Ondine) are mythical water spirits similar in nature to nymphs.
